TankPriser is a free service that helps you find the cheapest petrol and diesel prices in Denmark. We take your privacy seriously and only collect the absolute minimum data necessary to deliver our service.

2. What data do we collect?
2.1 Location Data (Mobile App Only)
When you use our mobile app, we ask for permission to use your location. We only use your location to:
- Calculate distance to gas stations
- Sort stations by nearest first
Your location is NOT stored on our servers. It is only used temporarily in your browser/app and only sent as coordinates (latitude, longitude) to our API to calculate distances.
2.2 User Preferences (Mobile App Only)
The mobile app stores your preferences locally on your device via SQLite database:
- Preferred fuel type (Petrol 95, Petrol 98, Diesel, Diesel Premium)
- Sorting method (nearest or cheapest)
- Selected gas station chains
This data is NOT stored on our servers - it remains only on your device.
2.3 Technical Information
We collect basic technical information to keep the service running:
- IP address (temporarily in server logs)
- Browser type and version
- Device type (mobile/desktop)
This data is only used for troubleshooting and is automatically deleted after 7 days.
2.4 What do we NOT collect?
We do NOT collect:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- User accounts or logins
- Payment information
- Cookies for tracking or analytics
- Your precise location (only coordinates for distance calculation)
3. How do we use your data?
We use your data exclusively to:
- Show fuel prices from gas stations near you
- Calculate distance to gas stations
- Sort and filter prices based on your preferences
- Improve service stability and performance
We NEVER sell your data to third parties.
4. Data Security
TankPriser uses modern security standards:
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data traffic
- Fuel price data is fetched from public sources (legally required price disclosure)
- Your preferences are only stored locally on your device (mobile app)
- No personal data is stored on our servers
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Neon Database: Stores fuel prices (public data)
- Vercel: Hosting of web app and API
- Mapbox: Map display (mobile and web)
These services have their own privacy policies which you can read on their websites.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access data we have about you
- Correct incorrect data
- Delete your data
- Withdraw consent for location (just deny permission in app settings)
Since we don't store personal data on our servers, there is very little to delete. Your app preferences are only on your device and can be deleted by uninstalling the app.
7. Children
TankPriser is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since we don't have user accounts, children can use the app with parental permission.
8. Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated on our website. Continued use of TankPriser constitutes acceptance of the changes.
